  • At lower volumes (a few hundred to low thousands of units), the most accessible customization is printed inserts, custom labels or stickers, and branded poly bags or simple printed boxes using the factory's existing box dimensions - low cost, fast turnaround, no new tooling required.

  • At mid volumes, fully custom printed boxes (your artwork, your dimensions) become cost-effective, along with branded tissue paper, thank-you cards, and simple structural customization like magnetic-close boxes instead of basic tuck-top.

  • At higher volumes, custom mold packaging (shaped inserts, branded blister packs, fully custom structural design) becomes viable, along with premium finishes like spot UV, foil stamping, and embossing that meaningfully change how a product feels on unboxing.

  • As a rough guide: low volumes generally mean order sizes under 1,000-2,000 units, mid volumes fall in the 2,000-10,000 range, and higher volumes are what unlock full custom tooling and mold investment.

  • Lead time scales with customization level too: printed inserts and stickers add almost no time to production, custom printed boxes typically add 1-2 weeks for proofing and printing, and custom mold packaging can add 3-4 weeks for tooling and sample approval.

  • The factory doing your product isn't always the best, or cheapest, option for packaging - many importers use a separate packaging supplier and have it shipped to the same consolidation point before the order ships out.

  • That's exactly the kind of coordination a sourcing partner handles so you're not managing two separate vendor relationships and timelines yourself.

  • We help clients map out what's realistic and cost-effective at their specific order volume before they start briefing artwork to a factory, so the packaging conversation starts with the right expectations instead of a mismatch between what they want and what their MOQ actually supports.
